Elif Erdine: (Programme Director) is an architect and researcher. Currently, she is a PhD Candidate at the Architectural Association PhD in Design Program, working on ‘Design Research towards a Parametric Proto-Tower’, under the advisory of George Jeronimidis, Patrik Schumacher and Michael Weinstock. She has been working at Zaha Hadid Architects since March 2006.
Her projects have been printed widely in international and national architecture publications. She has received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 2003, with high honors, and Master of Architecture & Urbanism degree from the Architectural Association (AA) in 2006 with Project Distinction, (‘Hybrid Species’). She is a registered architect in Turkey. She is the Programme Director of AA DLAB and AA Istanbul Visiting School.
Diego Perez Espitia: A graduate from the Architectural Association Design Research Lab (2008), Diego holds an honours degree in architecture from Los Andes University (2000). He has taught design studio in Colombia, digital tools at the AADRL, and parametric design at Tsinghua University, China, and at the AA Visiting School. His work ranges from scripted master plans, public buildings and facade development, all the way through to interior design and applied design research in Colombian slums. Since 2006 he has been interrogating -through academia, at MAD Architects as Parametric Design Leader, and currently at Zaha Hadid Architects- the potentials and limitations of algorithmic design in architecture.
Alexandros Kallegias: studied architecture at the University of Patra in Greece where he received his Master of Architecture degree (2006). As a graduate from the Design Research Lab (DRL) program in the Architectural Association (Master of Architecture and Urbanism degree, 2011) he explores computational means as a parametric problem-solving design approach. In his research he aims to transform static built models to animated kinetic prototypes.
His academic pursue in various programmes of the Architectural Association, such as DLAB and AA Istanbul Visiting School, is a further contribution for his investigations in generative design approaches and digital fabrication technologies. He is a registered architect in the United Kingdom and Greece, where he has worked for a number of architectural practices. Currently, he works at Zaha Hadid Architects in London. He is the Programme Director of AA Athens Visiting School.
Kensuke Hotta: ( Beng + Meng + Msc), AA School, phD in Design (2009~) is an architect, and researcher based on Tokyo / London, currently belongs to PhD in Architectural Design at the Architectural Association. He was born in Japan, received his architecture degrees from Kyoto University, Tokyo University, and Bartlett School (UCL). He was honored from Union Foundation, and got prizes on several international competitions, and he is teaching as a lecturer, and tutor in several association and school.
